About Highland Park

Our Mission

We, the Highland Park S.U.P.E.R. Stallions community, are continually striving for academic excellence while moving forward as a S.T.E.M. School who values 21st century skills exhibited through collaboration, dedication, and respect for all.

Our Purpose

Highland Park serves to provide a "world-class" education to student in the Pueblo community while focusing on the S.T.E.M. model.  We currently serve students in preschool through 6th grade.  In addition to the regular education program, Highland Park offers a high quality gifted and talented program and special education program in order to meet the needs of all of our students. In order to shape the whole child, Highland Park also provides education in the areas of music, physical education, and instructional technology.

Throughout the school year, Highland Park utilizes the school action plan as a means to focus efforts toward improving student achievement.  While there is still work to be done on raising student achievement, Highland Park staff and students are working hard to make gains in academic growth.

Our Educators

The staff of Highland Park Elementary School is qualified to serve the wide range of needs from the high-risk child to the gifted learner. Highland Park Elementary staff continues to support the district's need to work systemically--continuing to support curriculum alignment, student-teacher engagement and effective progress monitoring.  At the same time, we will focus on and improve instructional rigor in reading, writing, and math and build our professional knowledge of best practices. We are continuing to build our professional learning community and are working toward expanding our knowledge of the Response to Intervention Model in order to better serve each and every one of our students
